Gilbert & Sullivan’s hilarious and hopeful PIRATES OF PENZANCE promises a shipload of shenanigans, merriment and fun.

The plot centers on young Frederic, having reached his 21st year, is released from his apprenticeship to a band of tender-hearted pirates. He meets Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley, and they fall instantly in love.

Complications ensue because he’s pledged to the pirates until he’s 21, and he is a leap year baby.

He is bound for 63 more years — and he’s a man of his word.

Can he find a way to live happily-ever-after with Mabel?

In 1981, PIRATES OF PENZANCE was nominated for seven Tony Awards and won for Best Revival, Best Leading Actor Kevin Kline, and Best Director Wilford Leach.

It was also nominated for eight Drama Desk Awards and won five, including Outstanding Musical.
