Festival of Lights

One of the best parts of the holiday season? Christmas lights! With days getting shorter and the sun setting sooner, neighbors, businesses, and community centers join together to deck out public spaces, front lawns, and more with twinkling lights. Perhaps the brightest and boldest of them all is English Village, Lake Havasu’s unofficial Winter Wonderland when the cooler season rolls around.

Every year, as Lake Havasu decorates for the holidays, English Village takes it to the next level with the Festival of Lights, an annual tradition of the local attraction lighting up with over 750,000 Christmas lights. On the night of the event, people gather around the village and count down to the lever pull, which lights up the many tiny lights.

These lights stretch all the way to London Bridge, which has had its own holiday light displays, from string lights to projections that coat the bridge in red and green. For the following months, throughout the holiday season, English Village stays lit up, looking more like a small town out of a Christmas movie than its typical shopping center.

This event is also the official start of the holiday season at the London Bridge Resort and kicks off their 12 Days of Christmas celebrations, which feature ice skating, Santa visits, and more by the waters of the Bridgewater Channel.
