Major Event Submission Criteria

Lake Havasu City is known for its signature events, from high-energy festivals and races to celebrations that bring our community and visitors together. Our event calendar is designed to highlight experiences that showcase what makes Lake Havasu City unique and inviting.

Go Lake Havasu’s mission is to promote tourism and feature events that inspire travelers to choose Lake Havasu CIty as their destination. We reserve the right to edit submissions for clarity and consistency, and final inclusion is at the sole discretion of our team.

Please allow up to 24 hours for Go Lake Havasu to review and approve event submissions before they appear on the calendar.

Events We Welcome

Events are considered for the calendar when they meet one or more of the following:

• Open to the public
• Take place within or near Lake Havasu City
• Non-political in nature
• A one-time occurrence rather than a recurring class or ongoing series
• Have a clear start and end date
• Bring visitors or participants to the city, or have strong appeal to tourists
• Have a noticeable impact on marine and/or public land access
• Religious celebrations hosted on secular property as part of a holiday (reviewed on a case-by-case basis)

Events Not Typically Included

To keep the focus on destination-friendly experiences, the following types of activities are not featured on the Major Events calendar:

• Commercial promotions such as grand openings, business anniversaries, or retail sales and specials
• Educational seminars, support groups, or multi-week classes
• Private social gatherings, business networking meetups, or neighborhood events like rummage or yard sales
• Activities hosted in private homes
• Weekly religious services or other faith-based gatherings
• Political activities
• Member-only events
• Specialized activities requiring unique knowledge, skills, or equipment—unless they are also spectator-friendly
