Overview

Lake Havasu City kicks off the holiday season Havasu-style:

With a spirited swim race through the Bridgewater Channel—and the winner earns the honor of flipping the switch to illuminate the English Village for the holidays!

It’s equal parts friendly competition and pure hometown magic.

Cheer on swimmers as they make their dash through the channel, then gather near the base of the London Bridge for the countdown.

When the champion throws the switch, the English Village bursts to life with twinkling lights, reflections on the water, and that unmistakable holiday buzz.

Stick around to stroll the Village, snap photos by the bridge, and soak in the glow.


Arrive early for the best viewing spots along the channel and around the bridge.

  • Please note that exact race and lighting times will be posted closer to the event.
  • Parking Public parking is available in lots around the English Village and the London Bridge area.
  • Carpooling is encouraged.
  • Dress warm for a crisp desert evening by the water.
