7th Annual Havasu Heat Race

Join us for the 7th annual Havasu Heat Race in beautiful Lake Havasu, Arizona. Paddlers come together from Arizona, California, Utah, New Mexico and Hawaii to participate in either short or long course racing.

The Havasu Heat Race is one of the classic desert lake races featuring OC-1s, OC-2s, OC-6s, Surf skis, Inflatable and Hard SUPs, Prone Boards, V1s, and Kayaks.

Important Notes on the event:

We encourage you to register online before Friday the 27th so you don't have to stand in the slower "Registration" line. You can get in the "Check-in" line and just get your bib. Quick and Simple!

If you wait to register on the morning of the race, it's going to cost you $50 per racer, per race. You don't want to do that, so register online before Friday, March 27.

Rotary Park Beach EARLY REGISTRATION booth will be open Friday the 27th from 2pm to 6pm. You can register, check in and get your bib, or if you've already registered online 🙂 you can quickly check in and get your bib.

- PFD’s are encouraged on all paddle craft with the exception of Prone paddleboard. Leashes are suggested for use on the long course for OC-1’s, OC2's, SUP's and Surfski’s

No Dogs, Alcohol or Glass are allowed in Rotary Park…Rangers will issue hefty fines!

No refunds!

- Paddlers are required to know the course and behave in a sportsmanlike manner…Please come to the assistance of fellow paddlers in distress.

- Food Lunch truck will be available.

6:30am - Long Course - PRE-RACE MEETING (approx. 9 miles)

Required Attendees: OC6 - Steersperson + One crewperson, OC1, OC2, V1 - All Racers, SUP Elite, Surfski, Kayak, Prone, Other

7:00am - Novice SUP Inflatable and SUP Hard Race Board Pre-Race Meeting (approx. 2 miles - inside Thompson Bay)

Required Attendees: Novice SUP Inflatable and Novice Hard Race Board

7:30am - Long Course Race Start - Heats are approximately one minute apart.

Heat 1 - All OC6 Unlimited Canoes

Heat 2 - All OC6 Traditional Canoes and Elite SUP

Heat 3 - All OC1, OC2 and V1

7:40am - Thompson Bay - Novice SUP Start

All SUPs start together

9:00am - REGISTRATION CLOSES

9:30am - Short Course PRE-RACE MEETING (approx. 5 miles)

Heat 3 - 12'6" and longer SUP
