11th Annual Geocache Desert Bash

11th Annual Geocache Desert Bash

03/11/2017 @ 9am-2pm

Cattail Cove State Park will host the 11th Annual Geo-cache Desert Bash treasure hunt with music, cactus walk, presentation and food! Geo-caching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunt that uses hand-held GPS devices. This year there will be over 20 geocache sites to find along various trails and the Lake Havasu shoreline; there are even a few geocache sites dedicated to those wheelchair-bound.

Participants enter coordinates into their units and attempt to find a hidden container filled with small trinkets. Individuals are placed in a group based on their experience level, and follow an assigned leader. Experienced geocachers can come as early as 9am and go out on their own. Beginners are welcome as there are numerous volunteers with GPS experience to help them. Each participant signs their name and date on a small logbook inside the geocache and returns the geocache book to its original position.

Following the treasure hunt, prizes will be raffled and a Grand Prize of a Garmin GPS unit will be given away at 12 noon. Food will be available. Geocache Desert Bash runs 10am-2pm.

Regular park entrance fee will not be charged for the Geocache event. Cattail Cove State Park is located on State Route 95, 15 miles south of Lake Havasu City. Campsites with electricity are available for $28/night. Event dates and times are subject to change. Please contact event coordinator to verify information.
