Lake Havasu City Receives Prestigious Accreditation
The Lake Havasu City Convention & Visitors Bureau is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded accreditation from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP), making it one of only 135 CVBs in the world that meets the program’s international standards for excellent service. We hope you’ll come experience Lake Havasu City soon!
Now that the frenzy of the holidays is wearing off, and a long, cold winter looms ahead for many, it’s time to plan an escape to sunny climes.
Sparse daylight and frigid temperatures keep most people indoors, dreaming of the warmth and outdoor adventure that spring and summer will bring. Not so for the folks here in Lake Havasu City. Our desert paradise is temperate enough for residents and visitors alike to enjoy their favorite outdoor pastimes all year round. Plenty of northerners take an annual Lake Havasu vacation and spend the entire winter in our warm, laid-back atmosphere.
Upcoming Events
The sounds, smells and tastes of the Lake Havasu Music,Brews & BBQ Championship (January 27-28) promise to overwhelm you in the best possible way. This family-friendly event raises money for local charities. Where else can you find a festival like this in January?
Put on your cowboy boots and head on over to the Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association and Little Delbert Days (January 28-29) for live rodeo action and fun activities for kids, ranging from pony rides to a rock-climbing wall.
In Lake Havasu we celebrate winter rather than dreading it. Case in point: the 27th Annual Winterfest (February 11-12). Locals and visitors alike will be out enjoying warm sunshine along with arts, crafts, food, live entertainment and more! Bring the family and celebrate winter for a change.
Lake Havasu City is the only place you’ll find a four-night, world-class fireworks show in the middle of February. The 23rd Annual Winter Blast (February 16-19) features the latest and greatest products from the Western Pyrotechnic Association. Come have a blast with us!
If rockabilly music, hot rods and a pinup girl contest are your idea of a good time, you simply cannot miss the 4th Annual Lake Havasu City Rockabilly Reunion (February 17-19). There will be food, a beer garden, a swap meet, prizes and more. We hope to see you there for a weekend of nostalgic ‘50s fun!
Serious anglers will want to be in Lake Havasu City for the 2012 EverStart Western Division Qualifying Tournament (February 23-25). Watch the best fisherman around work their magic (and maybe pick up a few tips) on one of the best boating lakes around for a wet and wild weekend.
